Lady Boss

This post is in partnership with Custom Ink.

Last June, I left my job at State to pursue other interests and landed a job as the Director of Digital Marketing for a company up in Door County. A year later, I put in my two weeks and committed to the scariest and most rewarding decision I’ve made yet: Dog Ear Digital.

Earlier this year, I made the jump to doing what I’ve dreamed of doing for a long time: working for myself doing something I really love. It has been the most rewarding, most terrifying, busiest, laziest, most motivating, 6 months of my life and I am here for it. From the client work to the behind the scenes of running a business, I’m exhausted and so excited to see what the next 6 months (and beyond!) have in store.

Dog Ear Digital started off as a full service social media management and digital marketing company that has rapidly transformed into logo design, brand creation and development, and most surprisingly, wedding stationery – more on that next week!

Custom Ink caught wind of this major life moment and wanted to make sure I celebrated like any new business owner should – with as much swag as possible. I knew I wanted to create custom pieces for my kick-off event that also served as their own marketing piece. I settled on koozies in every color imaginable and relied heavily on the amazing Custom Ink team to bring my vision to life. I planned to get to production solo – their website is incredibly easy to navigate in order to create the pieces you need all on your own – but when I started having trouble uploading my logo design, their team took over and was able to seamlessly finish my project which I really appreciated. Custom Ink customer service FTW.

A week later, 100 Dog Ear Digital koozies in an assortment of rainbow colors (and these camo ones that are my favorite!) showed up expertly packaged and in perfect condition. I wanted this product to be essential and effective: Who doesn’t need a koozie? You’ll be hard pressed to find a boater in the middle of a Door County summer that doesn’t need to keep their drink cold. Enter: A Dog Ear Digital koozie. It’s a boating and tailgate essential and the logo does an effective job at marketing my new business when I’m not there to do the talking!

If you’re a new business owner, I’d highly suggest looking into Custom Ink for any promotional materials you’re looking to create. I especially love their custom koozies (obviously), their tech products, and the notebook and journal selection they have.
