Moving into the new place has been werk but the little details are finally starting to come together & after I identify a weekend to spend reupholstering 3 armchairs, my fur bear & I will be all settled.
It’s amazing how outfitting a space can truly make it your own little lady cave you never want to leave. The older I get, the more I realize I’m a homebody in the sense that I’m more than content on my own, with Wendell, at home. No matter what’s on the agenda, I’m always happy to be home. It doesn’t hurt that the new place, unlike the old, is rodent free, isn’t on the Presidential motorcade route, has a newly tiled bathroom that doesn’t flood every night at 10pm, is not missing wooden floor panels, is home to, not one but two, working elevators, & has a kitchen that not only comes with appliances but is roomy enough that I can open my oven all the way. Ah, the little luxuries in life.
What’s your favorite way to make a new place your own?
