Exploring Georgetown with Cambria Hotels

Sponsored by Cambria Hotels & Suites

On our last day in the city, I woke up early to get a chunk of work done in the Business Center, grab a coffee, and spend the morning in Georgetown before attending a few appointments in the afternoon. I decided to skip the gym that last morning and opted for a SoulCycle class instead but not before enjoying that rooftop view one more time! I’ve lived in this city for a long time but the skyline view never gets old. Particularly from the Cambria Hotels & Suites rooftop!

I grabbed a Capital Bikeshare bike right outside our hotel in Shaw and raced into Georgetown to make my SoulCycle class. Biking to a spin class? Yea, I regretted it almost immediately. I always feel great after Soul, but exhausted and famished. After I pulled myself together with the help of a new Soul hoodie, I visited my favorite coffee spot in Georgetown where I always stop in for an iced mocha, avocado toast, and a green juice or three.

I was lucky enough to get a table outside on such a busy day, so I set up shop for an hour or two, enjoying my favorite snacks from South Block and Grace Street and getting a little work done. Of course, 15 minutes of that time was creating and recreating the perfect flat lay before I actually ate any of it…

Since I’d ditched my bikeshare before the Soul class, I decided to walk around, people watch, and do a little shopping. Neighborhoods will come and go in this city but since I was little, Georgetown has always been my favorite. Whether it’s sitting by the waterfront during the summer, walking around campus in the fall, or spending way too many winter night at JPaul’s, it’s always my favorite place to be.

After taking my sweet time wandering through the canal, I met up with a few friends at Farmers & Fishers before walking back up to M Street to get a little more shopping in before heading back to the hotel. With my bags already packed and safely waiting with the concierge, I knew I didn’t have much more room for new purchases!

Once I made my way back to Shaw, I did a little bit more exploring before heading back to the Cambria Hotels & Suites to check out. The drink tokens we got the first night were these great coasters with an image of the Jefferson Memorial on it that I knew I’d love to display in my new kitchen. The concierge was kind enough to gift us a set as we checked out which was the cherry on top of an incredible stay. If you’re looking for a modern hotel without that touristy feel and an exceptionally hospitable staff, I highly recommend the Cambria Hotels & Suites in Shaw!
