This past weekend, one of my best girlfriends got married in Wilmington, North Carolina, and I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been itching to get back to my east coast. Life is good in this little harbor town, but there’s something about salty air and palm trees that warms my cold, black heart. As jazzed as I was to be a part of one of my favorite humans marrying her favorite human, it meant I had to wear real clothes for the first time in
weeks awhile. I’m still waiting for wedding parties to catch onto this adult onesie trend…
The night before the wedding, we met up for drinks and it was the first opportunity I’ve had to slip into a dress in a long time. Back home, we’ve had snow on the ground since December. I opted for this flowy mini and paired it with a duster jacket since I wasn’t sure just how warm it’d be over the last weekend in March. I wasn’t 100% sold on the two pieces together since there’s little structure to both but the pairing ended up being one of my favorites. This summer, I’m planning on wearing this bad boy over dresses, paired with jean cutoffs, and maybe even using it as a swim cover up. The possibilities are endless since it’s so dang versatile and at $19 it’s a piece you’re going to want to wear all summer.
How do you style duster jackets?
