Crushed Velvet

Velvet Dress c/o Take 5 Boutique

Steve Madden Heels

If you told me that I’d be wearing crushed velvet after the 90s I’d never believe you. That was until I spotted this open back stunner at Take 5 last week. I was a little hesitant that it would take me back to our 1996 Christmas card where my brother and I wore matching velvet jumpsuits but luckily, I’m getting a much different vibe from this stylish piece. Call me crazy, but I think I’m starting to get on board with this trend. Think about it: a perfectly tailor crushed velvet blazer? It’s growing on me, folks. What are your thoughts? Are you down with this latest trend?

I’ve had a burgundy/wine colored crushed velvet fitted blazer in my closet for years- with the color it’s prefect for the holiday season. I definitely embrace it for the holidays, something about the texture makes it feel luxe. Not sure post Christmas though if I could do it!

It sounds gorgeous! I’d be rocking that from Thanksgiving to Christmas if I were you!

What brand is the dress? I cannot find it at Take 5 anymore.
