Book Club | 2018

When I moved to Door County last June, I knew all of two women. And being the true extroverted introvert that I am I was perfectly content with spending the summer focusing on myself, my new surroundings, and building these two friendships. Winters here can be rather isolating and with that in mind as Summer came to an end, I joined not one but two book clubs. At that point, I felt relatively stable in all of my newness and was ready to meet a few new faces.

It’s true, initially I was most interested in the wine at these gatherings than I was the books – but the women in both of my groups are so killer than most monthly book picks have been really interesting. The wine picks are also on point…

Like the proper adult house guest that I try to be, each time I arrive with a bottle in hand and I’ve found that the Cavit Pinor Noir has been an overwhelming favorite this holiday season with my girlfriends. So much so that the last book club I hosted went through the last case I had in stock – I can’t blame them for having great taste!

In 2019, I’m hoping to share my favorite book club reads with you every other month but for now, I’ll leave you with a few of my favorites from 2018:

What were your top book picks from this year?

This post is in partnership with Cavit. Thank you for supporting me and the brands I choose to work with!

I LOVED “I’ll Be Gone in the Dark.” I loved that it was so many things in one – a mystery novel, a compelling nonfiction, an autobiographical story of someone finding themself and their passion, and a plain old scary story. The whole thing actually made me really paranoid, and I had to take a break midway through. But such a great book.

Same, same, same. I put alarms on each outer door to the house after reading this. But, so good!
