I’m headed northeast this weekend. About 45 minutes, to be exact. For three days of love, marriage, barbecue, and booze. And I have exactly zero responsibilities.
There’s nothing quite like experiencing a friend’s wedding day with them when you’re in the bridal party. It’s a whirlwind weekend of old friends and amazing times. But there’s something to be said for attending a wedding just as a guest. A regular ol’ guest. With zero responsibilities. There’s no dress to be purchased. There’s no speech to be written. There’s no family to wrangle. There’s no last minute undergarments to procure. There’s just drinks to be consumed, dancing to be danced, and good times to be had. Not the worst gig in the world.
This weekend’s festivities are nautical themed. Well, less themed and more location based. It’s hard for me to think about anything else when I’m on the eastern shore. So, nautical themed it is. Since you won’t find me in Chinos paired with pearls, this is as preppy as I get these days. In the same boat? (Pun absolutely intended) Pick a favorite, wedding guest appropriate dress from your closet. Then pair it with accessories that “summer” it up a bit. Wearing navy? Pair with blush. Wearing blush? Pair with mint. Wearing red? Pair with baby blue. And so on…
Remember, if you have a specific question relating to the outfit you’re wearing to an upcoming wedding, tweet it to @districtsparkle to be included in Friday’s roundup!
