The fashion gods were surely smiling down on me when they chose September & February as New York Fashion Week months. No matter the year, New York Fashion Week falls during these two months that have been deemed, appropriately, ‘cold weather’ months. Leather, all things black, dark lips, pale skin that’s in, fuzzy beanies, oversized patterned coats…otherwise known as EVERYTHING I LOVE.
Don’t start with me on how September is still the end of summer. I simply won’t hear it. Instead I’ll turn on ESPN for you to see the top 10 football plays of the past weekend & then direct you to the Halloween isle in Rite Aid. So, don’t.
In seasons past, I’ve dressed for the photographers at Lincoln Center instead of dressing appropriately for the day, & more importantly, for myself. This season I played it true & only packed pieces that I absolutely loved, pieces that fit, & whaddaya know…85% of the pieces were black &/or leather. Shocking. This was the first, but certainly not the last, black & white look I sported at Lincoln Center last week. Check back in over the next 2 weeks to check out all my NYFW looks!
