Since the Rebecca Minkoff Love Crossbody bag came out, I’ve had my eye on it. I didn’t necessarily ‘have to have it’ because I’m not really a bag girl and it was way out of my price range. But I loved it, nonetheless. And then… the black bag was released with black hardware.
I’d loved the black bag with gold hardware but stopped myself from falling down that rabbit hole since I’m particular about mixing my golds and silvers. Grand plan. Whatever keeps me out of debt, ya dig? But then Rebecca Minkoff decided to speak specifically to me through this quilted bag that is crafted to perfection. I thought long and hard and hard and long about purchasing such a grand item for myself. Since it was just a bag. “JUST A BAG!?”, some of you might scream… I know, I know. But I’ve never been a bag girl. I just haven’t. And I’ve also never really been about labels. I wear what I want to wear. AND I ALWAYS WANT TO WEAR THIS BAG.
As fate has it, a few weeks ago I started collaborating with South Moon Under on their upcoming denim event (more details in the coming weeks) and was able to style an outfit for the feature. Enter: bag. SMU’s bag game is on point right now but this seemed too serendipitous to pass up. I now wear her everywhere and she sleeps on my nightstand. But, seriously…
What’s your take on bags, ladies? Should I get over this bag thing and invest in a handful of classic bags or continue to spend $40 here and $60 there on clutches and totes I won’t worry about damaging?
