I really need to get better about tossing everything haphazardly into my suitcase because I hate dealing with the mess of unpacking it all when I get to my destination. How do you keep all of your items separated so that they stay in place while you’re traveling?
I’m a compartmentalizer. When I travel, everything must have its own spot. There’s not much worse than smacking into the person seated next to you while you dig to the bottom of your bag trying to find your external charger before your iPad dies. Wow, that was a super first-world sentence. I don’t think you can ever be too organzied when you travel. I like to keep a few of the items in my suitcase like shoes, cosmetics, & dirty laundry in Flight 001 bags. I keep smaller items that I need during the flight like toiletries & chargers in smaller Flight 001 bags or fun cosmetics bags that I’ve accumulated over the years.
I rarely travel & I’m about to fly over 10 hours for a work trip. Help! What are your in-flight travel essentials?
Full disclosure: I probably have too many. But I fly a lot, I’m very particular, & I hate not having the products I normally use with me. Thank goodness for 3floz. I always pack my laptop, ipad, external chargers, camera, books, headphones, a scarf, sunglasses, sanitizer, body wipes, & Emergen-C in my Lo & Sons carry-on. I also toss my favorite travel-sized products in a cosmetic bag since I hate that greasy in-flight feel. I just posted about my international travel essentials but more are also listed below:
I’m finally ready to invest in a carry-on that can also serve as a purse & camera bag. Do you have any suggestions that won’t make me totally broke?
I equated travel to hell-on-earth until I found my Lo & Sons O.M.G. bag. It is literally a woman’s travel savior. The O.M.G. stands for Overnight & Medium Gym bag when in reality it should stand for OMG this is the most perfect bag ever created for lady travel. It fits on the back of 99.9%of suitcases & ZIPS so that it’s not flopping everywhere as you’re racing through the airport trying to make your flight. It has 87 different pockets for all of our different tricks. & it’s understated. The last thing I need my Mary Poppins bag to be is loud; The sound of my luggage wheels screaming against the walking escalator & me gasping for air as I race to my gate is all the noise I need to be making. It serves as a great briefcase-type bag once you reach your destination & is padded enough for even this hypochondriac to put her camera in it.
My rolly suitcase is old and gross. I need a new set that I’m not embarassed by when I travel for work. What are the best bags out there right now?
Victorinox, Samsonite, & Tumi are my current favorites. I purchased a Heys bag earlier in the year & would not recommend the line. Although, I must say, their customer service has proven very helpful re replacing broken parts. I’d also recommend luggage with shell casing as opposed to cloth because the thought of what gets sopped up in suitcase fabric makes me want to dry heave. However, this is a personal preference.
