I’m no stranger to black on black looks like this one. So much so that they have become my lazy girl’s guide to dressing during the winter. Life has been so chaotic and I’ve been less than inspired to do the necessary shopping it takes to continue building my wardrobe so I’ve been sticking to easy black monochromatic outfits, making sure that the colors match but the textures are different.

Adding a fun piece, like this blazer cape, helps break up the monotony and adds an unexpected element to an otherwise boring look. Instead of pairing it with ripped denim, I opted for a waxed jean with a hint of sparkle to add even more depth to the outfit. As the weather warms up, I’m looking to incorporate a few more neutrals into my wardrobe to be able to create more monochromatic looks in grey, navy, blush, and camel.

As for getting out of this funk, I’m trying my best to stick to my 2017 resolutions, taking my own blogging advice, and looking to Pinterest for outfit inspo. What are your best tips and tricks?
