The hardest part about this blog is finding a happy medium between work wear and casual wear. I spend the majority of my week in work wear & I work my best when I’m dressed in my best; Even if that’s head to toe black. My intention is for District Sparkle to be your stop for 9-5 fashion inspiration with the occasional beauty tip on office appropriate hair + makeup.
But recently I’ve been getting emails about dressing for summer dates, weekend outings, & festivals. Typically I’ll spend a few minutes & pull a look or two offline to send along to readers but with so many inquiries into more casual wear I thought I’d do a few weeks of those looks this summer. The first was last week’s wedding week. In early August, we’ll hit summer date night looks & this week is all about concert + festival looks. With Lollapolooza (one of my favorite concert weekends in college) on the horizon, & Jason Aldean + Florida Georgina line coming to Nats Stadium next Friday, it’s only fitting that we do a full run down of country concert + Lolla appropraite looks: One for each day. You know how I feel about hippy shoes & flower crowns but just because I don’t make my own soap doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy a good summer festival.
To keep things super simple on the first day, throw on your favorite pair of cutoffs & toss a breezy top on over your bikini which is a must-have over the course of any Lolla weekend. Leave the fancy footwear for next week’s date night & opt for something more practical & comfy to get you through the day. Birks are the style bloggers footwear of choice this summer & for good reason. You won’t be disappointed. Lastly, keep your essentials in a bag that can be worn all day so you’re free to indulge in snow cones & dance the day away!
