MIU MIU SUNGLASSES c/o DITTO | FOREVER 21 BELTED DRESS | similar NECKLACE | similar BOOTS | REBECCA MINKOFF BAG

Awhile back, I met a lovely (and badass) photographer early one morning before shooting a feature with DC’s Modern Luxury Magazine. We spent the morning mixing up all the outfits I had already planned out, testing well over 20 lip colors, and swapping sartorial secrets. Did we just become best friends? YUP. As we’re prepping the first look inside the loft, she turns and says to me, “Don’t forget your sunglasses.” “My sunglasses?”, I say. Perplexed beyond all as… we’re indoors. “Yea! Your shades! They’re your thing.” Hmm. My thing. I didn’t think I had a thing let alone the thing being sunglasses. But I got to thinking about recent posts. And not so recent posts. And how most, if not all, included sunglasses. So, I guess they were my thing. When in reality, I’m wearing sunglasses for one of two reasons: I’m not wearing makeup or I look haggard as shit from a long day at the office. That day, I ended up opting to go shadeless for the shoot since, after all, we were indoors and – for the love – I will never be one of those women.

I’m telling you… the whole oversized aviators and a topknot look is way underrated. Aviators not your thing? Ditto has a ton of options that you can try on and swap out every month. Yessir. For $24 a month you can call a designer pair of shades your own. Then after 30 days, swap them for another pair. Genius. And if you sign up using this code: DISTRICTSPARKLE you’ll get your first month free.

So, spill. What’s your thing? Or… what do you want it to be in 2016?

I LOVE Ditto! you just reminded me to swap for my next pair (what better time to do it than a week of rain!?)
